My name is Claudia Delfina Cardona.
I am a poet born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I received my B.A. from St. Mary’s University in English Communication Arts and my MFA in Creative Writing from Texas State University. My poems have appeared in Apogee Journal, Cosmonauts Avenue, Salt Hill Journal, and many more lovely publications. I co-founded Chifladazine, a zine that highlights creative work by Latinas and Latinxs, in 2013 alongside Laura Valdez. In Fall 2019, I co-founded Infrarrealista Review, a literary journal for Texan writers, with Linda Rivas Vázquez. I co-host the podcast “Clint and Claudia talk about movies” where we pick a double feature and talk about it every week. I’m currently open to freelance graphic design and editorial work. I’ve done logos, layouts, and illustrations.
“My Heart is a Tourist Trap” in Salt Hill Journal Issue 43/44
“My Heart is a Tourist Trap,” “Pisces Heart,” “Delfina,” and “Aries Season” in I Scream Social Anthology Vol. 2
“Fierce Tangibility” in “Here Ahora” a project funded by the City of Houston.
“Venus in Aries” in “Save Venus from Burning” zine
In late 2019, Linda R. Vázquez and I decided to create a journal that rejects the MFA supremacy of most lit mags. We especially wanted to focus on Texas writers. We launched our first issue on March 7th. They will be available online soon.
Clint and Claudia talk about movies
I co-host this podcast with one of my best friends, Clint. Ever since I’ve known Clint, we’ve always spent our time together watching movies, getting coffee after or going on a walk to talk about the movie. We take turns picking the double feature every week and discuss what we like and don’t like. New episodes come out every Friday.
